Amanda C. Shoffel is an experienced trial lawyer in the federal courts and concentrates her practice in the areas of federal civil and criminal litigation.

Ms. Shoffel has tried over 40 cases to juries in multiple jurisdictions. Most recently, Ms. Shoffel served as Senior Counsel in the Special Federal Litigation Division of the New York Office of Corporation Counsel, where she represented the City and the NYPD in numerous civil actions in the United States District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York. In those matters, she handled all aspects of litigation, from the pleading stage through trial, as well as representing her clients in mediation sessions and settlement negotiations.

Ms. Shoffel previously served as a Deputy City Solicitor for the Philadelphia Law Department, where she defended the City and police officers in civil rights actions. During her tenure, the City of Philadelphia selected her for the inaugural class of the 2014 Public Policy Fellowship at Drexel University’s Lebow College of Business, recognizing seasoned and emerging leaders in city government.

Ms. Shoffel earned her Juris Doctorate from the New England School of Law in Boston, Massachusetts, where she received the 2009 Scribes Award for her article published in the New England Law Journal of Civil and Criminal Confinement.

Ms. Shoffel earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in law and justice from Rowan University. In August, Ms. Shoffel’s professional achievements earned her recognition as one of Rowan University’s “40 Under 40” list.
