Amanda Shoffel has left her position as Senior Counsel in the Special Federal Litigation Division of the New York Office of Corporation Counsel to join Creizman LLC, a New York City-based litigation firm that specializes in white-collar criminal defense and complex commercial litigation. The firm’s recent representative matters include high-profile representations in federal criminal securities fraud, bitcoin fraud, and health care fraud prosecutions, including several upcoming trials. Ms. Shoffel has tried over 40 cases to juries in multiple jurisdictions.
As Senior Counsel to the New York Office of Corporation Counsel, Ms. Shoffel represented the City and the NYPD in numerous civil actions in the United States District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York. In those matters, she handled all aspects of litigation, from the pleading stage through trial, as well as representing her clients in mediation sessions and settlement negotiations.
“We are thrilled to have Amanda Shoffel join our team,” said Eric Creizman, the firm’s founder and principal attorney. “Our clients, and more importantly, our adversaries, know that we pose a credible threat to take any case to trial when doing so is in the best interest of our client. Amanda adds another layer of experience and talent to our team. She is no stranger to high-profile cases and is a winner. That’s exactly what the firm wants and what our clients want.”
Ms. Shoffel previously served as a Deputy City Solicitor for the Philadelphia Law Department, where she defended the City and police officers in civil rights actions. During her tenure, the City of
Philadelphia selected her for the inaugural class of the 2014 Public Policy Fellowship at Drexel University’s Lebow College of Business, recognizing seasoned and emerging leaders in city government.
